YourTurn® by Erie Insurance

Improving driver safety, one trip at a time. Learn how you can become a safer driver and have the chance to earn some great rewards with YourTurn®.

YourTurn[1] from Erie Insurance is a smartphone app that monitors certain aspects of your driving habits and provides feedback, helping you become a better driver. Within the first 30 days of using YourTurn, drivers see an average reduction of 35% in phone distractions, 20% in hard braking and 20% reduction in at-risk speeding.[2]

Each time you drive, YourTurn collects and analyzes driving data to give you an overall driving score. High scores earn monetary rewards, which can be redeemed in the app for electronic gift cards (more than 25 to choose from) or donated to charity.

Your overall driving score is calculated using two weeks of driving data, which focuses on:

  • Driving smoothness. The less hard braking, accelerating and hard cornering you do, the better your score.
  • Speeding. Obeying the speed limit results in an increased score.
  • Phone use while driving. YourTurn measures phone usage based on phone movement and screen activation.

Once the YourTurn app is installed on your phone, you’ll have access to information such as:

  • Trips. View the list of all your trips, and scores for each.
  • Family. Opt into this feature to see your family members’ scores, latest location and more.
  • Leaderboards. See how you rank against your peers for overall score, phone distractions and speeding.
  • Trends, Streaks and Achievements. See how you’re trending, how you compare to your best scores and the badges you’ve received for milestones.

Having good car insurance is reward enough, but when you’re looking for something more, ERIE is here with YourTurn. Talk to your ERIE agent today to learn more or get started
