Fraud Finders
Hi. I'm Phil Friday,
Fraud Finder for Erie Insurance.
My job is to investigate insurance claims. Not the typical, run-of-the-mill
claims most folks have, but the more complex or unusual claims. I also
help our claims adjusters determine just what happened to cause a loss
so they can decide how to best settle the claim.
Most of the claims I investigate are not fraud, so I always approach
each investigation on the premise that the claim is legitimate.
Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Insurance
fraud does exist—and every insurance consumer in America
pays for it. In fact, it’s estimated that we each pay
an additional $300 each year for insurance because
of fraud.
